The Rirratjingu Football Program and Djarrak Football Club have secured former elite NRL player and World Champion boxer Joe Williams to speak to club members this Thursday 7 December. Williams will address his personal story from the demands of being an elite athlete to dealing with alcohol and substance abuse, Bi Polar Disorder and suicide ideation.

An accomplished author and public speaker, Williams is visiting East Arnhem Communities through the support of Rirratjingu Aboriginal Corporation, NT Police, NO MORE Campaign, Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation and The Enemy Within.

Rirratjingu Football Program Senior Coach Hayden Rickard was thrilled to secure Williams at the Thursday session. He said "This particular Wellbeing session is really going to go bone deep on Joe's story. Our program has had a number of guest speakers that have left an impact on our people and I expect this session to be no different. Our Wellbeing approach is a hugely significant part of our overall program".

Williams story is raw, honest and touching. Club members are encouraged to attend this special Wellbeing Education session at Yirrkala Oval from 5-6:30pm.
