Round 3 NTFL action was a disappointment for both grades in the mens competition for Darwin Buffaloes Football Club. Division 1 saw ladder leaders Waratahs Football Club humble the double blues by 15.13.103 - 6.8.44. Premier League fell to its third consecutive loss 10.10.70 - 7.12.54 also against Waratahs in a lacklustre display that will bring a real edge to next weeks games against Southern Districts at Freds Pass.
Rirratjingu Football Program had 6 players across both grades and program newcomer Dale Dhamarrandji showed positive signs from Fullback and Centre Half-back. Justin Burarrwanga and Tyrone Dhagapan continue their apprenticeships and showed some quality touches on the fast break. Shaun Mununggurr debuted for the Gatapanga and was busy throughout. He showed glimpses of class and an improvement in match fitness over the coming weeks should see him push for a Premier League spot.
In Premier League the program was served well by Cameron Stokes. Stokes was busy in defence and his option taking from turnover ball was first class. Lapcy Mununggurr had a tough night at the office from Half Forward Flank. Naturally a Full Forward, program staff have identified some areas that will allow real improvement to his game.
